To keep up with the increased demand, InnerSloth later ported the game to the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and Xbox One as well as Xbox Series S/X, to keep up with the demand. Fast forward to a year later, InnerSloth announced Among Us VR at The Game Awards 2021.
Since then, the developers haven’t confirmed when Among Us VR will come out. However, a SteamDB listing reveals that the VR title will launch on November 10. Interestingly, the said date falls on a Thursday. Most studios schedule their releases on Tuesdays or Fridays, which would suggest that the tentative launch is a placeholder. But, if it’s real, InnerSloth could still push the date back if it feels like the game needs more work. Bringing Among Us to VR platforms is an ambitious undertaking. The short gameplay teaser we’ve seen shows a player messing around the game’s spaceship setting only for a red crew member to sneak up behind them. The VR port of the pandemic’s most viral game could bring the title back to the forefront of mainstream consciousness with the release of the first-person perspective version on the PSVR, Meta Quest 2, and Steam. With multiple video game showcases and events scheduled in the summer, we should start hearing more about Among Us VR by then.
