Night City is dangerous, so V will need to be armed with the best armaments out there, and the way the countless characters inhabiting the world interact with them hinges on their personal history. The Tools of Destruction trailer gives us a rapid-fire - literally, in some cases - overview of how many of the game’s weapons handle and compare to one another with very brief clips of them in action. This isn’t the full breadth of the game’s weaponry, but we still see a staggering amount of guns, melee weapons and cyberware. Among the most impressive displays are those of the smart weapons, the bullets of which round corners, go behind cover and find their targets on their own. V is a highly customizable protagonist, and players will be allowed to select one of three possible historical backgrounds for them, which affects their stats, their relations with certain characters, what missions and weapons they can access and more. In essence, the life path leaves its mark on the entire game. Choose wisely - or play through Cyberpunk 2077 three times (at least). We know we will. The three options on offer are the Nomad, the Street-Kid and the Corpo-Rat. All three of them have their advantages, disadvantages and will strongly influence how certain factions approach you.
