In Epic’s bid to promote its digital games distribution platform and win the hearts of consumers, it has invested heavily towards giving away free games on the Epic Games Store. So far, Epic has consistently given away free games every Thursday, announcing what free games fans should expect a week before they are given away. August 5 is no exception to this. After offering up Mothergunship and Train Sim World 2 completely free starting on July 28 until August 5 at 8:00 AM PT, the Epic Games Store is going to give away a much better title in A Plague Tale: Innocence along with Speed Brawl starting on August 5.

How do you claim A Plague Tale: Innocence from the Epic Games Store

Epic Games Store’s freebies are easy to claim. All you have to do is to head on over to the store’s front page, scroll down for a bit, and you’ll find the free games being offered for that week and the next. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one of the more underrated games of its generation. Critics praised the 2019 stealth-adventure title for its visuals and narrative. However, the game didn’t really get any more content outside of the base campaign. With no multiplayer, the game lacked the staying power needed these days for titles to stay at the forefront of the mainstream gaming consciousness. With a sequel in A Plague Tale: Requiem already confirmed for a 2022 release, it makes sense to give away Innocence across multiple platforms. At the moment, Innocence can be claimed for free on the PlayStation 4 as part of the July 2021 PlayStation Plus lineup. It’s also part of the Xbox Game Pass library. Innocence will complete its free game hat trick on August 5 by being available on the PC as a freebie on the Epic Games Store. With that said, the best way to experience Innocence is to play the next-gen version on the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X. Then again, considering that the PC version is free on the Epic Games Store, it’s not half-bad. Not to mention, if you have a souped-up gaming PC, you could technically enjoy Innocence at its highest graphics setting possible. Speaking of free games on the Epic Games Store, Innocence isn’t alone. Joining it is the 2D combat-racing game, Speed Brawl. All things considered, both games are of excellent quality, especially considering that you’re not paying for anything.
