Having said that, fans can rest easy now knowing that a fourth film is coming and it will see the gang of action icons back together along with an entirely new cast of fresh faces.
What do we know of Expendables 4 so far?
Earlier this year, there were rumors that a Lee Christmas (Jason Statham) spin-off was in the works, only for Sly to confirm that Expendables 4 was already in development. Since then, we’ve gotten more info about the fourth Expendables film. For example, we’ve learned that Expendables 4 will see new additions such as Tony Jaa, Andy Garcia, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson, and Megan Fox, who recently shared her look for the film. Now, we’ve got more behind-the-scenes photos and videos of the new Expendables film courtesy of Sylvester Stallon himself. In an Instagram post, Stallone shared a video of his character, Barney Ross, revving up his motorcycle. The latest set of photos also include shots of himself alongside other cast members Jason Statham and Dolph Lundgren, who portray Lee Christmas and Gunnar Jensen, respectively. The Expendables franchise has toyed with the idea of introducing a new generation of action stars in the past. In Expendables 2, the film brought in Liam Hemsworth as a fresh addition to the crew that died early on in the film. Meanwhile, Expendables 3 sees Ross round up a new gang to take on a former member of the squad in Mel Gibson’s Conrad Stonebanks. It is unknown what happened to the characters of Kellan Lutz, Ronda Rousey, Glen Powell, and Victor Ortiz following the end of The Expendables 3. What is interesting for the fourth The Expendables movie is that only Tony Jaa has serious action credentials among the newcomers. Then again, so long as 50 Cent, Fox, and Garcia can all prove their mettle in the film’s bombastic action pieces, all three should prove to be valuable additions to the ensemble cast.
