Zorro is going back on the small screen on Disney

This isn’t the first time that Zorro has appeared on the small or big screen. One of the most popular adaptations of Zorro is the aforementioned 1950s TV show. In addition to this, the character was part of a pair of big-budget films starring Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, 1998’s The Mask of Zorro and 2005’s The Legend of Zorro. Regardless of the adaptation, all stories depict Zorro as a vigilante who fights against corrupted governments, in particular, nobles. He wears a cape, mask, and a cordovan hat, with a penchant for carving the letter “Z” on his opponents and other objects using nothing but his rapier. The Hollywood Reporter was the one to break the news, with a statement from Valderrama that said Zorro was the character that made him feel like he “could be a hero.” He added that the opportunity is a “dream come true” for him. Unfortunately, the announcement did not include other details about the show, including other cast members and a release window. We can expect to hear more about the upcoming live-action Zorro TV series in the next few months.
